Balikbayan Privilege/Stamp

My husband and I planned our visit and possibly "staying" in the Philippines for more than a year. And when the time came for us to do our final preparations we found out that he could stay in the Philippines for up to year without having to pay visa fees every 3 months. At first my husband wasn't convinced and had to research and read a lot online just to make sure. And he did find out for himself.

If you are looking for any kind of information about this Balikabayan Privilege you found the right post. Don't think too much. LOL. My husband was. He was even saying he would tell the guy that he wanted the Balikbayan stamp. I told him that if they see us together and know that we are married, automatically you will get it. Well, like I said, he didn't have to. They stamped it without him asking. Basically once you are married to a Filipino/Filipina when you travel into the country WITH your spouse you will be granted this privilege. It's not a visa, they will stamp your passport with this automatically if they see that you are travelling with your filipino spouse. I don't think you need to ask, but wouldn't hurt to ask either.
